RACE REPORT

Northwich Autumn Head – 2350m – 13 November 2011

Again, two trailers full of boats left Hollingworth Lake to compete – this time – at Northwich Autumn Head.  Again, eighteen single sculls competed in the first division.  Illness explains our DNS.  I think I bore witness to our DNF.  From the finish line, I could see sculls approaching four abreast.  Four abreast!  Stood 300m away, I couldn’t hear the clatter of blades, but there must have been some fouls.  One wet competitor soon followed.

There was another wet competitor in one of our W.J18A.2x.  Complaints from Bow suggest that Stroke was showering her with water.  However, in a single scull, I have hit myself in the face with water.  Keep your chins held high and move your hands deep in the boat.

Just one controversial comment overheard when boating for Division 3.
